Job summary

Wabash in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Material Handler to join the production team. After training you will operate forklifts and other equipment, stock lines, and assist in multiple departments as needed, while prioritizing safety and quality.

PPE is provided and adherence to safety policies is expected. You will participate in receiving and shipping activities, report defects, and help ensure a smooth material flow on the production floor.

Qualifications

• High school degree or G.E.D. required.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass PIV (power industrial vehicle) training.
• Basic reading, writing, math, and verbal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Owning and helping improve our performance in Safety, Quality, and Delivery
• Maintaining and reporting daily receiving and shipping activities
• Reporting defects and needs for repairs
• Keeping lines stocked with the proper materials
• Performing additional work as assigned by the supervisor or coordinator, which may require the employee to assist in different departments
• Wearing approved personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses with side shields, respirators, hearing protection, etc.
• Completing assigned duties in accordance with safety, policies, and practices, including your individual safety, as well as the safety of co-workers, and the safe use of equipment in the workplace
