Job summary

VIP, Inc. is seeking a Master Technician in Lewiston, ME to perform advanced diagnostics and repair across engine, transmission, electrical, and safety systems.

Responsibilities include ensuring proper work orders, adhering to VIP safety and quality standards, and maintaining a clean, compliant shop. The role requires ASE certifications and a commitment to ongoing training, with a standard 40-hour work week and non-exempt hourly classification.

Qualifications

• Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journal and procedures, or governmental regulations
• Explain vehicle information to customers and respond to questions from coworkers
• Diagnose and recommend solutions to automotive problems
• Interpret, understand, and apply written, oral, diagram, or schedule form instructions
• Ability to perform required types of automotive services listed above

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety as #1 and follow safety policies and training
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive systems per ASE A1–A8 scope
• Ensure a Service Work Order is initiated and displayed during service
• Complete MPI and support the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement Process
• Return unused parts to the Desk Team after service and manage cores/batteries/tires properly
• Meet productivity targets (Technician 80%, ASE 90%, Master Technician 100%) and maintain shop cleanliness
• Attend trainings, meetings, and maintain compliance with VIP processes and safety standards
• Maintain facility and equipment, and support daily/weekly shop maintenance
