Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced Coastal & Navigable Waterways Practice Leader to guide federal feasibility studies and complex navigational projects. You will bridge sponsors and USACE, manage staff, and deliver economic, environmental, and engineering analyses to secure approvals.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in coastal design, PE or equivalent registrations, and a strong track record in leadership and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Coastal Engineering or related discipline required.
• Professional registration such as PE, PTOE, PTP, PMP preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 10+ years of design experience in coastal/civil/site projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead coastal and navigable waterways practice initiatives across multiple projects.
• Coordinate with area leaders to develop pursuit strategies and staff requirements.
• Oversee delivery of technical work, ensuring quality and client satisfaction.
• Support staff development, tools, and production processes.
• Represent HDR in professional organizations and client engagements.
• Manage projects with a focus on safety, schedule, and budget compliance.
