Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced Coastal & Navigable Waterways Practice Leader to drive federal feasibility studies and manage staff across major maritime projects. You will bridge sponsors and USACE, delivering complex navigational, economic, and environmental studies to secure project authorization.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Coastal Engineering or related field.
  • Professional registration (PE) preferred; required in some locations.
  • 10+ years in coastal engineering/planning.
  • Experience bridging design, regulations, and environmental compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage complex maritime projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead companywide coastal & navigable waterway projects and studies.
  • Manage staff and a program to deliver navigational, economic, and environmental analyses.
  • Develop client relationships with ports, agencies, and sponsors.
  • Coordinate with area leaders on staffing and pursuing opportunities.
  • Represent HDR at professional organizations and manage deliverables.
