Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced Coastal & Navigable Waterways Practice Leader to guide feasibility studies and bridge the gap between ports, state agencies, and USACE. This role leads a staff delivering complex navigational, economic, and environmental analyses and builds client relationships across multiple markets.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in coastal engineering or planning, a PE license or equivalent, and a track record of delivering high‑quality, compliant projects on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
  • Professional Engineer license or equivalent; PE preferred.
  • 10+ years in coastal engineering or planning for consulting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead federal feasibility studies under WRDA and coordinate with sponsors and USACE.
  • Manage staff and a program to deliver navigational, economic, and environmental studies.
  • Develop client relationships and pursue opportunities with Area Business Development Leaders.
  • Oversee project delivery, ensure quality and consistency of service.
  • Mentor staff and develop production tools and best practices.
