Job summary

SPX Technologies, Inc. in Olathe, KS, is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a manufacturing team and oversee daily operations, production planning, and continuous improvement initiatives for the facility.

You will hire, train, and motivate hourly employees, drive on-time delivery, quality, and inventory control, and partner with HR on staffing matters. A strong leader with a track record in lean manufacturing and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience attracting, retaining, motivating, and developing diverse teams.
• Experience in unionized manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including assembly, welding/machining, quality control.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
• Proficiency with manufacturing software and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the manufacturing team, ensuring productivity and a positive working environment.
• Promote open communication and SPX core values; participate in hiring and onboarding.
• Coach and evaluate employees; drive training and development; conduct performance reviews and corrective actions.
• Organize department workflow, set objectives, prepare schedules, and report progress.
• Ensure safety guidelines are followed, oversee tools/equipment, and address hazards promptly.
• Collaborate with planning and logistics to prioritize production and ensure on-time delivery; monitor quality and inventory.
• Maintain records, prepare reports, identify process improvements, and support lean initiatives.
