Job summary

American Woodmark Corporation is seeking a Process Engineer to drive process improvements and standardization across large manufacturing systems. The role focuses on equipment capability, maintenance, and advancement of process controls on the plant floor.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of manufacturing experience, familiarity with MS Project and AutoCad, and strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills. Occasional travel and a collaborative team environment are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Six Sigma training is a plus.
• Experience on the plant floor with process equipment and controls.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose issues on component machining and assembly equipment and oversee repairs.
• Maintain control over machining, dust extraction, assembly, and adhesives.
• Train operators and maintain training materials; oversee new operator training.
• Assist maintenance with complex electrical or mechanical problems.
• Manage electrical prints and PLC/VFD programs documentation.
• Lead machine upgrades to improve uptime and yield.
• Develop and train maintenance staff on PM systems and predictive maintenance.
• Lead improvements to vibration analysis and thermography programs.
• Participate on teams and projects; ensure policies are followed.
• Provide a safe, productive work environment with proper housekeeping.
