American Woodmark Corp. is seeking a Process Engineer to drive focused projects and standardize processes, applying advanced applications and technologies to improve equipment capability and maintenance.

The role requires hands-on plant-floor work with process equipment, strong problem-solving, and collaboration across teams. The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, CI mindset, and familiarity with data analysis and MS Project/AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience with large process systems.
• Experience on the plant floor with process equipment and controls.
• Knowledge of material flows, continuous improvement practices, and process analysis.
• Six Sigma training is a plus.
• Track record of successful project management.
• Experience with MS Project and AutoCAD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose issues on machining and assembly equipment; oversee repairs and develop tracking and preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Maintain control over all aspects of machining, dust extraction, assembly, and adhesives.
• Train operators and update training materials; oversee training of new operators if required.
• Assist maintenance with complex electrical or mechanical problems when support is required.
• Ensure proper filing of all technical documents related to component operations (e.g. electrical prints and PLC/VFD programs).
• Oversee/perform machine upgrades to improve uptime or first-pass yield.
• Provide upgrades and training to maintenance on PM systems; apply lessons learned.
• Lead improvements to predictive maintenance programs (vibration analysis, thermography, amp draw, profile analysis).
• Participate in assigned teams and projects; ensure policies are followed and provide guidance.
