Job summary

American Woodmark is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of project, manufacturing engineers, and maintenance staff at our NC site. You will drive capital projects, introduce new technology, and improve safety and efficiency in the plant.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years as an engineer in industry, 3+ years in management, and experience with Lean/Six-Sigma in regulated environments. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years as an engineer in an industrial environment.
• 3+ years in an engineering management role.
• Experience leading capital projects in an industrial setting.
• Proven project ownership and leadership in cross-functional teams.
• Experience with regulated environments (OSHA, EPA).
• Lean and Six-Sigma knowledge and practical application.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a project engineering team to meet plant needs and execute projects.
• Lead project engineers to improve manufacturing operations, safety, cost and lead time.
• Identify opportunities, vet ideas, and lead projects from concept to implementation.
• Oversee automation, process control, and facility automation projects.
• Act as a leader and consultant for plant-level engineering and maintenance planning.
