Sheridan Grand Rapids is hiring a Manufacturing Operator in the Bindery on the 3rd shift. No bindery experience is required—we’ll train you to run high-speed bindery equipment.

You’ll be part of a hands-on team producing books, catalogs, and printed materials with a focus on quality and safety. Role involves feeding books into machines, packing, moving materials, and completing hand operations to meet daily production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, or 1–3 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination.
• Ability to read and understand instructions and safety rules.
• Basic math and measurement reading skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and meet daily production goals.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Feed books into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you. We’re looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machineryin any industry(manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 20 lbs occasionally
