Job summary

Sheridan is hiring a Manufacturing Associate – Press on a 3rd shift (Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM) in Grand Rapids, MI. No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you to run high-speed bindery equipment and grow into a long-term manufacturing role.

You’ll work hands-on on a fast-paced production floor, maintain quality, and collaborate with teammates to meet daily goals. Full-time with overtime opportunities and comprehensive benefits after 30 days.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and work orders.
• Basic math and measuring skills needed for setup.
• Willingness to learn and operate bindery equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining register, fold, compensation; correct issues.
• Monitor color quality per SOP and Sheridan standards.
• Assist in webbing up press and set up/operate equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and basic hand operations.
• Work with team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products for quality and safety.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow PPE guidelines.

What You’ll Do

• Assists in maintaining register, fold, and compensation, identifying and correcting issues
• Monitors signature quality by assisting in setting and monitoring color by following Sheridan’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for quality
• Assist in webbing up press
• Assist in setting up/operating equipment by setting up press computers, units, folders, and auxiliary equipment and performing preventative maintenance
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you.

We’re looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast‑paced, team‑oriented production floor
• Lift up to 20 lbs occasionally
