Job summary

Sheridan is hiring for a Manufacturing Associate – Bindery on the 2nd shift. No bindery experience needed—we will train you to operate high-speed bindery equipment and contribute to producing books, catalogs, and printed materials.

You’ll learn hands-on skills, work on a team to meet daily goals, and advance through a safety‑mocused, quality‑driven environment. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or GED) and the ability to read instructions; basic math and measuring skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent education/experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, and manuals
• Basic math skills and ability to use measuring devices
• Mechanical inclination and ability to use basic tools
• Good teamwork and reliable attendance

What You’ll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you. We’re looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machineryin any industry(manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem‑solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 20 lbs occasionally
