Job summary

Sheridan is hiring a Manufacturing Associate – Bindery for the 1st shift in Michigan. We’ll train you to run high‑speed bindery equipment and help you build a long‑term career in print manufacturing.

You’ll feed books into machines, pack finished work, inspect quality, and work with a team to hit daily production goals while following safety procedures in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment. No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, and manuals.
• Basic math skills and use of measuring devices.
• Reliable team player with attention to quality.

Responsibilities

• Feed books and signatures into high‑speed bindery equipment.

What You’ll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you.
We’re looking for people who:

• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem‑solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It’s a plus if you have:

• One year of previous manufacturing or related experience
• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast‑paced, team‑oriented production floor
• Lift up to 20 lbs occasionally
