Job summary

Management Performance Associates seeks a Manufacturing HR Coordinator in Saint Joseph, MI to join a stable automotive environment focused on growth and work–life balance. You will operate as an HR generalist in a fast-paced plant, supporting hourly staff and production leaders.

The role emphasizes onboarding, recruiting, payroll/HRS data entry, compliance, and engagement programs, with mentorship from the HR Manager and no travel or weekend work. Michigan locals preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma; post education is highly preferred
• At least two years of experience in a similar human resources role
• Experience supporting HR functions in manufacturing environments
• Well-rounded HR generalist background
• Experience recruiting general labor positions
• Microsoft Office proficiency

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for hourly personnel and production leaders on attendance, policies, performance, and general inquiries.
• Partner with the HR Manager and third-party staffing agencies to recruit for hourly manufacturing positions, complete new-hire paperwork, and facilitate onboarding/orientation.
• Handle extensive data entry into payroll and HRIS systems, support timekeeping/payroll processes, complete physical and electronic filing, and maintain accurate employee records.
• Assist with compliance audits, ensure adherence to labor laws and company policies, track required employee training, and help administer FMLA, leaves of absence, and Workers’ Compensation.
• Lead employee recognition, wellness programs, and team event planning, while overseeing operational tasks like managing the uniform program and third-party vendor relationships.
