Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for the Windber, PA area. The role leads the site’s manufacturing engineering team, overseeing SMT and other PCB assembly processes, and drives NPI-to-mass production transitions with a focus on efficiency and quality.

The position emphasizes lean initiatives, capital equipment projects, and the implementation of advanced robotics and MES to optimize manufacturing performance in an EMS environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/industrial/electrical engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5–8+ years in a high-mix/low-volume PCBA EMS environment.
• 3+ years in a leadership/managerial role.
• Deep knowledge of SMT lines, soldering metallurgy, IPC guidelines, and MES.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or ISO 13485.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing and process engineers; manage department budget, KPIs, and project prioritization.
• Define and improve PCBA manufacturing processes including SMT, reflow, selective/wave soldering, and conformal coating.
• Champion NPI process with robust DFM reviews for smooth client design-to-production transfer.
• Lead capital equipment selection, installation, IQ/OQ/PQ, robotics, and smart factory tech.
• Drive Lean and 5S culture to reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and eliminate waste.
