Job summary

MDS Staffing is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager for a Windber, PA area site. This on-site, full-time role leads the manufacturing engineering team, optimizing SMT and through-hole processes and guiding NPI-to-production transitions.

The position requires a strong background in PCBA/EMS, with 5–8+ years in engineering and at least 3 years in leadership, plus familiarity with ISO/AS quality standards and MES systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required.
• 5–8+ years in a high-mix/low-volume PCBA/EMS environment.
• At least 3 years in leadership or managerial capacity.
• Deep knowledge of SMT, soldering metallurgy, IPC guidelines, MES.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing engineering team and manage KPIs.
• Optimize PCBA/SMT/through-hole processes and capital equipment.
• Drive NPI and DFM reviews for new products.
• Spearhead equipment selection, installation, IQ/OQ/PQ.
• Champion Lean and 5S to reduce scrap and improve flow.
