Job summary

KLA Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for the PCBA/EMS sector in the Windber, PA area. This on-site role leads the manufacturing engineering team, drives NPI to production, and optimizes SMT/through-hole processes with a focus on lean initiatives.

Responsibilities include capital equipment selection, robotics qualification, and GMP-like quality system alignment (ISO/AS standards). Significant leadership and a track record in EMS environments are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical Engineering.
• 5–8+ years in a high-mix/low-volume PCBA EMS environment.
• 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of modern automated SMT line configurations, IPC guidelines, and MES.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or ISO 13485 quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site's manufacturing engineering team and manage budgets, KPIs, and project priorities.
• Optimize PCBA/EMS manufacturing processes including SMT, wave/ reflow soldering, conformal coating.
• Drive NPI transitions from design to high-yield production with robust DFM reviews.
• Oversee selection, installation, IQ/OQ/PQ of new equipment, robotics, and smart-factory tech.
• Champion Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce scrap and improve cycle times.
