Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for an EMS PCBA operation in Windber, PA.

You will lead the manufacturing engineering team, drive NPI transitions to high-yield production, and optimize factory layouts with lean initiatives to boost throughput and quality. You will direct engineers, coordinate with equipment vendors, and push automation while ensuring IPC/ISO/MES compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
• 5–8+ years in high-mix/low-volume PCBA EMS environment.
• 3+ years in leadership or management.
• Deep knowledge of SMT lines, soldering metallurgy, IPC guidelines, and MES.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or ISO 13485.

Responsibilities

• Lead Manufacturing and Process Engineers; manage KPIs.
• Optimize PCBA manufacturing processes (SMT, reflow, wave, conformal coating).
• Champion NPI with robust DFM reviews.
• Oversee capital equipment selection, installation, and IQ/OQ/PQ; lead robotics initiatives.
• Drive Lean & 5S to reduce scrap and cycle times.
