Job summary

General Motors in Warren, MI is offering a Manufacturing Engineering Intern position. You will learn PFMEA fundamentals, participate in reviews, and assist in analyzing processes to identify risks while collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, Launch, and Plant teams.

The role provides exposure to vehicle launch activities, relocation stipend eligibility, and a hybrid work arrangement. Start dates are May 24 and June 14, 2027, with a focus on building technical, analytical, and teamwork skills

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Graduating Aug 2027–Jun 2029.
• Able to work full-time 40 hours/week during the summer months.

Responsibilities

• Learn the fundamentals of PFMEA and how it is used in manufacturing.
• Participate in PFMEA reviews and risk-reduction activities.
• Assist with analyzing manufacturing processes to identify potential risks.
• Support PFMEA data, reporting, and documentation.
• Participate in PFMEA workshops and learn how different teams work together to solve problems.
• Learn how lessons learned are captured and applied to future vehicle programs.
• Gain exposure to vehicle launch activities and the transition from Launch to Plant.
• Work with Manufacturing, Quality, Launch, and Plant teams.
• Use Microsoft tools, Google Workspace, and other digital/analytical tools to organize, analyze, and communicate information.
• Assist with projects that improve manufacturing quality, productivity, and process reliability.
