Job summary

Blue Origin, Renton, WA, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer III for the MK2 ECLS team. You will own the air and water treatment manufacturing scope, collaborating with chemists and engineers to move designs from bench to AS9100-compliant production, ensuring quality and readiness across production lines.

You will optimize processes, reduce costs, and improve timelines, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality aerospace components in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Eng from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years in manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering.
  • Experience maturing a process from development to qualified, repeatable production.
  • Experience in AS9100 or ISO 9001 environments.
  • 3+ years writing English work instructions.
  • Ability to identify and resolve manufacturing risks and drive improvements.
  • U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Mature chemical/sorbent processes from development to qualified production.
  • Plan PRRs and assess MRLs/PRLs as designs move to build.
  • Identify and resolve manufacturing risks and drive improvements.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, flow diagrams, and inspection plans.
  • Provide DFM/DFA support to influence producibility early.
  • Ensure work aligns with AS9100/ISO9001 quality standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis for non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in FMEAs, risk assessments, and new production line validation.
  • Develop broad expertise in chemical/sorbent processes for ECLS manufacturing.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction at scale.
