Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Development Engineer for the Tucson, AZ facility. The role focuses on leading projects across extended value streams, developing manufacturing data packages, and reviewing engineering designs.

You will guide factory engineers and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to enhance producibility, cost, and quality. Onsite position requiring DoD secret clearance and ability to obtain interim clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience working in manufacturing production.
• Experience with manufacturing process development or improvement
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.
• Ability to obtain interim Secret U.S government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate projects and improvements across the extended value streams.
• Develop Manufacturing Data Packages including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs.
• Provide technical input and peer review to engineering designs and design changes.
• Provide technical guidance and problem solving to factory engineers.
• Apply manufacturing engineering skillsets across the extended value stream to resolve constraints and improve process and product designs.
• Serve as the manufacturing and producibility authority within the program.
• Recommending process and procedural changes to ensure objectives in cost, efficiency and quality are met.
• Designing, controlling and improving the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team.
