Job summary

Corning in Durham, NC is hiring a Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance on manufacturing equipment, assist with line changes, and support operations to ensure continuous production. The role requires 1–3 years of hands-on experience with industrial equipment and a solid mechanical/electrical aptitude.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years experience operating manufacturing equipment, with technical aptitude or proven troubleshooting ability; or equivalent military experience.
• HS Diploma or GED; Technical Certificate program or equivalent experience preferred.
• This position does not support immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, adjusting equipment, and replacing common wear parts.
• Performs routine changeovers and lot changes.
• Perform proper startup and shutdown procedures on equipment and verification of equipment status.
• Assist operations team with routine line issues, resets, and restarts.
• Completes required preventive maintenance at defined intervals.
• Trains and mentors other associates within operations.
• Monitor output quality and quantity; troubleshoot as needed to make necessary machine and parameter adjustments where applicable.
• Troubleshoots minor equipment breakdowns and performs mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance whenever required to ensure uninterrupted customer supply.
• Works with hand tools and/or power tools while troubleshooting, conducting preventative maintenance (PM), or repairing equipment.
• Uses CMMS to document troubleshooting and maintenance activities; ensures accurate records.
