Job summary

The Maintenance Technician at Corning is responsible for ensuring all production and facility equipment operates efficiently and safely through effective preventative maintenance, calibration, and prompt corrective repairs. Candidates should have a technical degree or apprenticeship, strong hands-on maintenance experience, and the ability to read schematics and maintenance

Qualifications

• Technical degree or apprenticeship background with a solid understanding of industrial equipment.
• Hands-on maintenance experience and knowledge of industrial processes.
• Familiarity reading schematics and maintenance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance according to schedules, including downtime repairs.
• Accurately complete maintenance work orders, CMMS entries (Maximo), checklists, and docs.
• Communicate status and issues to coordinators, supervisors, and operators.
• Support production and engineering with maintenance and repair needs.
• Assist with specifications for new machinery and upgrades.
• Collaborate with engineering and coordinate with outside contractors for maintenance.
• Procure parts and supplies for maintenance and projects.
• Maintain a safe workplace following safety and environmental protocols.
• Work in a team that emphasizes safety, cooperation, and respect.
