Job summary

Corning Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Durham, NC to perform routine maintenance on manufacturing equipment and support continuous production. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration with the operations team.

Responsibilities include PMs, changeovers, equipment startups/shutdowns, and documenting activities in CMMS. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of experience and a technical certificate or equivalent training.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience operating manufacturing equipment or equivalent.
• Technical aptitude with troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, adjusting equipment, and replacing wear parts.
• Performs routine changeovers and lot changes.
• Startup and shutdown procedures verified for equipment status.
• Assist operations with line issues, resets, and restarts.
• Complete preventive maintenance at defined intervals.
• Train and mentor other associates in operations.
• Monitor output quality; troubleshoot and adjust machines/parameters.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment breakdowns and perform mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance.
