Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking a maintenance technician to perform a wide range of mechanical maintenance tasks at our facility. Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, reading blueprints, and operating diverse workshop equipment to service plant and facilities equipment.

The role requires a 2-year Mechanical Associate Degree or equivalent, 8,000 hours on the job, and a willingness to work rotating shifts. A Fit for Duty exam is required as part of the selection process.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a 2 year Mechanical Associate Degree
• 8,000 on the job hours or >4 years’ experience
• Willing to work rotating shift schedule
• Successful candidate must pass a "Fit for Duty" exam

Responsibilities

• Preventive and corrective maintenance work on plant and facilities equipment
• Works from blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions
• Operates a wide variety of equipment (saws, benders, breaks, drills, welding equipment, etc.)
• Performs tasks such as removing and reinstalling equipment, bearing replacements, and pipe installation
• Provide cross training for other skilled trades
• May participate in a work group performing tasks like writing work orders, material purchasing, and project coordination
