Job summary

Liberty Military Housing in San Diego, CA is seeking a Service Technician I to perform routine maintenance and repairs in a multifamily community. You will operate building systems and related tools to meet our quality standards and resident satisfaction.

You will apply basic skills in two or more trades (electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, appliance repair) and communicate effectively with residents and teammates. A valid driver’s license is required and on-call duties are expected.

Qualifications

One or more years’ related maintenance experience preferred.
Beginning level understanding or experience in two or more basic trades: electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, carpet care, appliance repair.
Working knowledge of appliances.
Competent use of small hand and power tools; basic electrical, carpentry, painting and small machinery repair.
Effective communication with coworkers, managers, vendors or residents and ability to follow work directions.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.
Must be available for regular on-call work assignments and emergency calls; willing to work after hours as required.
Must be able to arrive at the property within 60 minutes for service requests.
Ability to travel to other locations for training and work-related activities.
Adequate physical ability to lift up to 65 lbs and perform climbing stairs and ladders.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems and appliances including electrical, plumbing, painting, appliance repair and HVAC.
Apply basic skills in two or more trades to ensure quality maintained homes.
Perform routine service repairs and preventative maintenance in homes, common areas and grounds.
Complete resident-requested repairs within 24 hours.
Complete maintenance work on vacant homes per LMH standards.
Respond to on-call service requests and emergency calls.
Participate in routine inspections (QC, move in, preventative maintenance).
Maintain cleanliness of common areas and maintenance shop; assist with snow removal if applicable.
Report maintenance concerns to supervisor and update service requests in Yardi Mobile.
Follow safety practices and LMH SOPs; operate tools and equipment safely.
Travel to various locations for work purposes as needed.
