Job summary

Housing Development Corporation MidAtlantic is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and readiness across affordable housing communities in Lancaster, PA. You will work under the Community Manager to ensure safety, curb appeal, and consistent services for residents.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and hands-on maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a valid driver’s license.
• Some hands-on maintenance experience preferred; technical training or coursework in plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, or a related trade is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to changing operational needs.
• Required to follow on-call rotation.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a responsive, respectful point of contact for residents’ maintenance needs, delivering service aligned with HDC’s Core Values.
• Communicate clearly with residents regarding unit entry, scheduling, and completion of work orders.
• Complete work orders promptly (within 24 hours for emergency and 3 days for non-emergency).
• Maintain the physical condition of the community in alignment with maintenance standards and safety protocols.
• Prepare vacant units for occupancy and turnover within established timelines; collaborate with the Community Manager.
