Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking an Assistant Maintenance who supports the maintenance supervisor and helps uphold the property’s physical integrity. Responsibilities include handling resident service requests, safety compliance, and routine upkeep to maximize leasing opportunities.

The role requires at least two years in apartment maintenance or related trades, a high school diploma or equivalent, and EPA refrigerant certification.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time apartment maintenance or related trades.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
• EPA refrigerant recovery certification.
• Must have strong English communication; Spanish a plus.
• Own a basic set of hand tools.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record and auto insurance.
• Willingness to travel within metro areas and occasional overnight stays.
• Ability to work some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests within 24 hours.
• Manage system for handling resident service requests and on-call rotation.
• Ensure safety and compliance with ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA and company policies.
• Distribute flyers and other materials.
• Keep safety materials current and property conditions up to date.
• Maintain records of preventive maintenance and make-ready status of vacant apartments.
• Schedule and perform routine maintenance on equipment and inspect tools.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances and related systems daily.
• Handle on-call duties and standby emergency schedules.
• Prepare property for inspections.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the property manager or Regional Supervisor.
