Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking an Assistant Maintenance to support the maintenance supervisor and protect the property's physical integrity. You will work with the leasing team to maximize renewals, respond to service requests, and ensure safety compliance with ADA, Fair Housing, and OSHA standards.

The role requires a minimum of two years in apartment maintenance or a related trade, with a high school diploma and EPA refrigerant certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in apartment maintenance or related trade.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification a plus.
• EPA refrigerant certification required/preferred.
• Strong verbal and written English; bilingual Spanish a plus.
• Own a basic set of hand tools and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests within 24 hours.
• Schedule on-call rotation and assist with service tasks.
• Adhere to company policies, state and federal laws (ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA).
• Distribute flyers and materials as needed.
• Keep safety materials current and inspect property for hazards.
• Maintain records of preventive maintenance and make-ready status.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances).
• Participate in standby emergency schedules and inspections prep.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
