Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking an Assistant Maintenance who supports the maintenance supervisor and helps uphold safety and property integrity. The role collaborates with the leasing team to maximize renewals and leasing opportunities, while ensuring tasks align with company policies and applicable laws.

Ideal candidates have at least two years in apartment maintenance, a high school diploma (tech certs a plus), and EPA refrigerant certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of full-time experience in apartment maintenance or a related trade.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
• EPA refrigerant certification is required or strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and auto insurance.
• Ability to travel within major metropolitan areas and occasional overnight stays.
• Weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Handle resident service requests within 24 hours whenever possible.
• Assist maintenance supervisor and manage on-call rotation as needed.
• Maintain safety materials and property conditions; correct unsafe conditions.
• Maintain records of preventive maintenance, service requests, and make-ready status.
• Schedule and perform routine maintenance on equipment; inspect tools.
• Assist with inspections and stand-by emergency coverage.
