Job summary

UMH Properties, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Person for its Fohl Village Community to keep grounds clean, safe, and visually appealing for residents and visitors.

The role covers community groundskeeping, routine repairs, and light home-related tasks across UMH’s manufactured housing communities. The position is full-time, non-exempt, with overtime expectations, and entails driving through communities, following safety procedures, and working with heavy equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Broad range of experience in home repairs, general plumbing, grounds maintenance and operation of heavy equipment.
• Snow plow experience.
• Ability to prioritize safety in all job duties and attend periodic safety trainings.
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently to complete job duties.

Responsibilities

• Drive UMH vehicles through the community to inspect all common areas.
• Record violations observed during daily inspections.
• Repair and maintain community-owned homes and lots.
• Maintain community grounds including mowing, weed eating, and snow plowing.
• Keep work areas clean and safe; ensure clear aisles, exits, and equipment.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained and serviced regularly.
