Job summary

UMH Properties, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Maintenance worker for the Melrose Village Community in Ohio. This full-time role ensures overall groundskeeping, repairs to community homes and lots, and safe operation of tools and equipment in all weather conditions.

You will perform daily inspections, maintain common areas, assist with new home installations, and uphold UMH's safety and quality standards. OT may be required; in-person work is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• A broad range of experience in home repairs, general plumbing, grounds maintenance and the operation of heavy equipment.
• Snow plow experience.
• Ability to prioritize safety in all job duties and attend periodic safety trainings assigned by UMH Properties.
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently to complete job duties.

Responsibilities

• Drive UMH vehicles through the community on a daily basis to inspect all common areas.
• Record violations observed during daily inspections.
• Repair and maintain community-owned homes and lots.
• Maintain community grounds including mowing, weed eating, leaves, snow plowing.
• Keep work areas clean and safe with proper waste disposal and equipment storage.
• Take daily readings from water plant where required and log work performed.
• Complete periodic safety trainings and follow Hazard Communication Program.
• Safely operate power and hand tools; follow lockout procedures.
• Assist with new home installations including connecting sewer and water lines.
