Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. Wakefield plant seeks a Maintenance Technician L1 to perform mechanical and light electrical repairs, execute preventive maintenance, and support reliability initiatives. You will read drawings and schematics, use CMMS for records, and collaborate with maintenance and operations teams.

The role emphasizes safety, GMP compliance, and the ability to handle weekend and holiday coverage as needed. Prior SAP experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certificate preferred.
• One year maintenance experience preferred in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams.
• Prior SAP experience preferred; able to interact across levels of the organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs on plant equipment and address minor electrical tasks.
• Complete preventive maintenance and document results using CMMS.
• Troubleshoot technical issues with experienced maintenance staff.
• Assist with asset health improvement and reliability projects.
• Ensure safety policies are followed and maintain sanitary GMP practices.
• Support weekend/holiday coverage as needed.
