Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all facility equipment operates efficiently and to drive continuous improvements. The role includes overseeing preventive maintenance, managing staff, and coordinating with production to meet budgets and schedules.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, interpret blueprints, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. On-call/weekend overtime may be required as part of the position.

Qualifications

• High school or GED preferred.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Minimum of 3 years repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
• Minimum of 2 years supervising maintenance personnel.
• Experience with maintenance management systems is required.
• Ability to read blueprints/schematics and maintenance literature in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with hand and power tools; lockout/tagout knowledge.
• Ability to work overtime and lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using blueprints and manuals.
• Inspect, operate and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding for repairs.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Follow blueprints and manufacturer instructions per schedule.
• Test boiler chemical and wastewater systems and adjust as needed.
• Manage and assign maintenance tasks; handle budget and parts/labor forecasting.
• Oversee safety and regulatory compliance for maintenance.
• Train and develop maintenance staff and ensure timely training.
