Job summary

UniFirst seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to ensure facility equipment runs efficiently and to drive process improvements. This role oversees maintenance staff, safety, and regulatory compliance with a Monday–Friday schedule plus occasional overtime.

You’ll manage preventive maintenance, troubleshoot PLCs, read blueprints, and coordinate budgets with the Production Manager. Training and career growth are emphasized in UniFirst’s culture.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required; two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be 21+ with valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• 3+ years repairing industrial processing equipment; 2+ years supervising maintenance.
• Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics; English maintenance literature.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; hands-on with hand and power tools.
• Lockout/Tagout experience required; overtime readiness.
• Must lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding and repairs on facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Follow blueprints and manuals per schedule.
• Monitor training status and schedule required training.
• Oversee safety and regulatory compliance in maintenance.
• Manage budget for building, equipment, parts/labor with Production Manager.
• Train and develop maintenance staff.
