MAINTENANCE PLANNER

Dessert Holdings is seeking a Maintenance Planner at our manufacturing facility in Le Center, MN. The Maintenance Planner will own the Maintenance, Planning, and Scheduling system as part of the operations leadership team. This role supports and implements change management and productivity improvements within the plant. The individual will lead Maintenance standard work practices to ensure reliability, maintainability, and resource availability, focusing on overall deterioration losses. The role also includes responsibilities for food safety and quality assurance.

The typical hiring range for this role is $65,000 to $85,000 annually, based on factors such as education, experience, skills, certifications, and location. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensure plant standards align with corporate standards, including proper use of the CMMS system and standardizing master data.
  2. Review all approved work orders, ensuring inclusion of Safety, Material, People, Tools, When, Where, and Information (SIMPTWWI) on all job plans.
  3. Maintain all assets within the CMMS, including BOMS, PMS, and critical spare parts, and ensure new assets are properly entered.
  4. Drive improvements in equipment reliability, availability, and maintainability by focusing on top plant losses and participating in Daily Direction Setting meetings.
  5. Manage spare parts process, ensuring proper safety stock levels and aligned maintenance strategies.
  6. Create and publish weekly plant maintenance work plans, including standard stops.
  7. Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to set 30/90-day actions to meet key metrics aligned with corporate standards.
  8. Understand Quality Management Systems, including SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices.
  9. Document all maintenance activities within the CMMS system.
  10. Support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program to reduce unscheduled downtime.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Minimum of 3 years of industrial mechanical experience or a two-year technical degree.
  2. Experience with Master Data and CMMS systems.
  3. Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  4. Ability to identify component failure modes and develop preventive maintenance tasks.
  5. Ability to coach maintenance teams and leaders on standards.
  6. Must achieve HACCP certification and complete forklift training within 90 days.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  8. Experience with ovens, bakery, and packaging equipment is preferred.
  9. Ability to move about the plant, including stooping, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
  10. Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
