Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Lansing, MI is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for on-site, full-time work on the 3rd shift (10:00 PM–6:30 AM, Tue–Sat). The role includes electrical and mechanical maintenance, HVAC controls, and handling preventive maintenance across assigned facilities.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and document work orders while coordinating with vendors and operations teams to ensure safety and peak performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of working experience in general building repair and maintenance, including basic plumbing and electrical work.
• Valid state driver’s license in good standing.
• Physical ability to lift 80 lbs, climb ladders up to 30 ft, and work in outdoor conditions.
• Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to work outdoors, mechanical/equipment rooms, and in extreme weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance including lighting systems, ballast replacement, and low/medium voltage power support.
• Troubleshoot and maintain HVAC systems, controls, and mechanical equipment; perform preventive maintenance.
• Respond to emergency repairs and complete general maintenance tasks (carpentry, painting, drywall, minor plumbing).
• Support office operations by installing furniture systems and repairing office furniture.
• Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and materials; maintain organized work orders.
• Coordinate with vendors and assist operations team in repair and maintenance activities.
