Job summary

UMH Properties, Inc. is hiring a Full-time Maintenance person for several communities in Honey Brook Township. The role focuses on groundskeeping, repairs, and safety compliance across community-owned homes and lots.

The position requires a valid driver’s license, experience in home repairs and heavy equipment operation, and the ability to work independently or with a team. Overtime, on-call duties, and a non-exempt status apply.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Broad range of experience in home repairs, plumbing, grounds maintenance and heavy equipment operation.
• Snow plow experience.
• Ability to prioritize safety and attend periodic trainings.
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.

Responsibilities

• Drive UMH vehicles through the community to inspect common areas.
• Record violations observed during daily inspections.
• Repair and maintain community-owned homes and lots.
• Maintain community grounds: mow, weed eat, remove leaves, plow snow, shovel sidewalks.
• Keep areas clean and safe; dispose trash properly and keep exits clear.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained and serviced.
• Take daily water plant readings where required and inspect pump stations.
• Keep a log of all work performed.
• Complete periodic training on hazardous chemicals and safety procedures.
• Operate power and hand tools safely and correctly.
• Follow lockout procedures for machinery when servicing.
• Communicate professionally with coworkers and residents.
• Assist with new home installations when needed.
