Job summary

UMH Properties, Inc. seeks a Maintenance person for the Laurel Woods Community to provide groundskeeping and repairs for community homes and lots.

The role requires a valid driver’s license and experience with home repairs, plumbing, grounds maintenance, and heavy equipment. The position is full-time, non-exempt, with overtime as needed and responsibilities including safety training, equipment operation, and occasional new home installation support.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving record.
• Broad experience in home repairs, plumbing, grounds maintenance, and heavy equipment operation.
• Snow plow experience preferred.
• Must prioritize safety and attend periodic trainings.
• Capable of working both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Drive UMH vehicles through the community to inspect common areas.
• Record and report violations identified during inspections.
• Repair and maintain community-owned homes and lots.
• Maintain community grounds: mowing, weed eating, snow removal, sidewalks.
• Keep work areas clean and safely organized; ensure equipment is serviced regularly.
• Follow safety procedures, operate power tools, and use heavy equipment as needed.
• May assist with new home installations and communicate professionally with residents.
