Job summary

UMH Properties, Inc. is seeking a Full-time Maintenance person for our Forest Creek Community. The role focuses on community groundskeeping, general repairs, and upkeep of homes and lots, while upholding UMH standards for professionalism, quality and safety.

The position involves daily vehicle inspections, log keeping, compliance with safety programs, and occasional new home installation tasks. Strong teamwork, independent work skills, and a broad hands-on maintenance background are valued.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Broad range of experience in home repairs, general plumbing, grounds maintenance and the operation of heavy equipment.
• Snow plow experience.
• Ability to prioritize safety in all job duties and attend periodic safety trainings assigned by UMH Properties.
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently to complete job duties.
• Compensation is negotiable based on experience and skill level.

Responsibilities

• Drive UMH vehicles through the community on a daily basis to inspect all common areas.
• Record violations observed during daily inspections.
• Repair and maintain community-owned homes and lots.
• Maintain community grounds including mowing, weed eating, debris removal, and snow plowing.
• Keep work areas clean and safe; ensure aisles, exits, extinguishers, and electrical panels are unobstructed.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained and serviced regularly.
• Take daily readings from water plant and inspect pump stations in applicable communities.
• Keep a log of all work performed in the community.
• Complete periodic safety trainings and use hazardous chemicals per company policy.
• Operate power tools and hand tools; follow lockout procedures for machines.
• Communicate professionally with coworkers and residents.
• May assist with new home installations and deck work.
