Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a General Maintenance and Fleet Tech II for our Portland Red Cross Blood Center in Portland, ME. Schedule is Mon-Fri 8am-5pm with on-call duties; valid driver’s license required.

The role supports 17 fleet vehicles across multiple facilities and includes a $1,500 sign-on bonus and up to $8,000 in on-call pay annually. Under supervision, you will perform repairs, preventive maintenance and inspections, handling carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, masonry and

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience in painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work.
• Valid driver's license with clean DMV record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair facilities and properties; patch holes, repair floors, paint structures and equipment.
• Install and service boilers, chillers, motors, fans, pumps and related equipment.
• Perform inspections, tests and preventive maintenance; follow SOPs and regulatory rules.
• Provide leadership and guidance to volunteers; work with a team to complete tasks.
