Job summary
Valiant Residential invites applications for an Assistant Maintenance to support the maintenance supervisor and help preserve the property’s integrity. The role focuses on safety, compliance with policies, and timely handling of service requests to maximize renewals.
Responsibilities include basic repairs across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related systems, preventive maintenance, and assisting with inspections.
Qualifications
- Two years of full-time experience in apartment maintenance or a related trade; basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC.
- English communication skills required; Spanish is a plus.
- Own a basic set of hand tools and a valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Complete resident service requests within 24 hours when possible.
- Assist in managing the system for handling resident service requests and on-call rotation.
- Follow company policies and applicable laws (ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA).
- Assist in distributing flyers and materials and maintain safety materials and records.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and inspect tools; diagnose and repair basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and related systems.
- Assist in preparing the property for inspections and support the property manager as needed.
