Job summary

Village-of-Westerville is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Director in safety programs and daily site operations. You will perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and related systems, respond to routine and emergency requests, and assist with minor repairs and installations while ensuring a secure, welcoming environment for residents.

Under supervision, you will conduct exterior maintenance, participate in safety drills, and engage with residents

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with HVAC systems and/or electrical work required.
• Prior senior living experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the community safety program and maintain a secure resident home and working environment.
• Sustain a preventative maintenance program for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems.
• Complete maintenance requests (scheduled and emergency) promptly and efficiently.
• Repair, replace, or install minor equipment, hardware, and controls under supervision.
• Maintain water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, kitchen equipment and related systems.
• Perform exterior maintenance and participate in fire and disaster drill activities with residents and staff.
• Engage with residents in a compassionate and supportive manner upholding the community values.

Responsibilities:Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Director, our Maintenance Assistant oversees the Community safety program and maintains a secure resident home and working environment in compliance with policy and regulationsSustains a preventative maintenance program to maintain proper functioning of all Community equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systemsCompletes all maintenance requests, both scheduled and emergency, quickly and efficientlyMechanically repair, replace, and/or install minor equipment, hardware, and controls.
