Job summary

Grand Victorian of Zionsville in Carmel, IN is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to oversee the community safety program and maintain a secure resident home and working environment.

You will handle preventative maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other equipment, respond to requests promptly, and perform minor repairs or installations as needed.

The role emphasizes compassionate resident interaction and collaboration with staff to uphold dignity, safety, and service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in HVAC systems and/or electrical work.
• Senior living experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety program and secure resident home and environment.
• Sustain preventive maintenance on all community equipment (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Complete maintenance requests quickly and efficiently, including emergencies.
• Repair, replace, or install minor equipment, hardware and controls.
• Maintain water heaters, furnaces, HVAC, plumbing, and kitchen equipment.
• Perform exterior maintenance duties and participate in drills.
• Engage with residents with compassion and dignity.

Responsibilities:Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Director, our Maintenance Assistant oversees the Community safety program and maintains a secure resident home and working environment in compliance with policy and regulationsSustains a preventative maintenance program to maintain proper functioning of all Community equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systemsCompletes all maintenance requests, both scheduled and emergency, quickly and efficientlyMechanically repair, replace, and/or install minor equipment, hardware, and controls.
