Job summary

Paycom is seeking a Maintenance Assistant in Belvidere, IL to support community safety and maintain a secure living environment. The role includes preventative maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and responding to maintenance requests promptly.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, experience with HVAC/electrical work, prior senior living experience preferred, and strong interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the community safety program and maintains a secure resident home and working environment.
• Maintains a preventative maintenance program for HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems.
• Completes all maintenance requests, scheduled and emergency, quickly and efficiently.
• Repairs or installs minor equipment, hardware, and controls as directed by leadership.
• Maintains water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners and related equipment.
• Performs exterior maintenance duties and community plumbing tasks.
• Conducts fire and disaster drills with residents and staff.
• Engages with residents in a compassionate manner reflecting the values of love and dignity.

Job Details: Job Location: Belvidere, IL 61008, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $16.50 - $16.50 Hourly, Job Shift: 1st shift

Responsibilities:

• Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Director, our Maintenance Assistant oversees the Community safety program and maintains a secure resident home and working environment in compliance with policy and regulations
• Sustains a preventative maintenance program to maintain proper functioning of all Community equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
• Completes all maintenance requests, both scheduled and emergency, quickly and efficiently
• Mechanically repair, replace, and/or install minor equipment, hardware, and controls. Such scope of work is to be cleared by the Executive Director
• Maintain water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, kitchen equipment and associated equipment
• Maintain community plumbing systems
• Performs exterior maintenance duties
• Performs fire and disaster drill activities with residents and team members
• Engages with residents in a compassionate and impactful manner, cultivating a warm and supportive environment where the values of love, compassion, and dignity are reflected in every interaction

Qualifications: Qualifications:

• High school graduate or GED equivalent required
• Experience in HVAC systems and/or electrical required
• Prior Senior living experience desired
• Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
