Gardant-Management-Solutions in Crystal Lake, IL is hiring a Maintenance Assistant to oversee community safety, maintain resident homes, and support a secure, compliant environment.

Under the Maintenance Director's supervision, you will perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; handle maintenance requests; repair or install minor equipment; and ensure safe operations while engaging residents with empathy and dignity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• HVAC system and/or electrical experience is required.
• Prior senior living experience is preferred to support residents effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the community safety program and maintain a secure resident home environment under supervision.
• Sustain a preventative maintenance program for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems.
• Complete all maintenance requests, both scheduled and emergency, promptly and efficiently.
• Repair, replace, or install minor equipment and controls as approved.
• Maintain water heaters, furnaces, and kitchen and related equipment.
• Perform exterior maintenance duties and ensure upkeep of community systems.
• Conduct fire and disaster drills and engage residents and team members.
• Interact with residents with compassion, reflecting the values of love, compassion, and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Director, our Maintenance Assistant oversees the Community safety program and maintains a secure resident home and working environment in compliance with policy and regulations
• Sustains a preventative maintenance program to maintain proper functioning of all Community equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
• Completes all maintenance requests, both scheduled and emergency, quickly and efficiently
• Mechanically repair, replace, and/or install minor equipment, hardware, and controls. Such scope of work is to be cleared by the Executive Director
• Maintain water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, kitchen equipment and associated equipment
• Maintain community plumbing systems
• Performs exterior maintenance duties
• Performs fire and disaster drill activities with residents and team members
• Engages with residents in a compassionate and impactful manner, cultivating a warm and supportive environment where the values of love, compassion, and dignity are reflected in every interaction

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent required
• Experience in HVAC systems and/or electrical required
• Prior Senior living experience desired
• Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
