Job summary

The Houston Grand – River Oaks, operated by HEI Hotels and Resorts, seeks a Front Desk/Guest Services team member. You will greet guests, handle registrations, process payments, and support guests from arrival to checkout with a focus on exceptional service.

Strong communication, calculator use, and patience are essential. The role requires standing and moving through the front office and maintaining professional guest relations at all times.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Ability to use a calculator for moderately complex math with accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stand and move throughout the front office.
• Ability to input information in a moderately complex computer system.
• Ability to observe emergency indicators and respond appropriately.
• Ability to build effective relationships with guests and colleagues.
• Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a friendly, sincere welcome and assist with arrival and departure.
• Complete hotel registration and input guest details and room rate.
• Handle cash, process payments, and balance the house bank.
• Verify credit cards for authorization and manage vouchers or traveler's checks.
• Answer phones promptly and relay messages to guests.
• Close guest accounts at checkout and address guest satisfaction.
• Respond to guest concerns by researching solutions and negotiating outcomes.
