Job summary

Fairmont Austin is seeking a professional in Event Sales & Services to actively solicit and sell guest rooms and meeting space to small groups, ensuring quarterly and annual sales goals are met. You will develop new business, maintain existing accounts, and coordinate details with the operations team for flawless events.

You will collaborate with Culinary, Front Office, and other departments, maintain CRM records, and pursue opportunities for future business while upholding service standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent asset.
• Experience in sales, event planning, and hotel operations.
• Knowledge of food and beverage trends and luxury hotel market.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to plan and execute events with strong attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of Opera Cloud and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Social Tables.

Responsibilities

• Sell guest rooms and meeting space to small groups to help achieve quarterly and annual sales goals.
• Develop new business opportunities, engage prospective clients, maintain existing accounts, and encourage repeat business.
• Maintain accurate account, contact, sales activity, and business details in the CRM and sales software.
• Coordinate event details and ensure contractual requirements and client expectations are met.
• Collaborate with Culinary, Front Office, and other departments for seamless event execution.
• Conduct pre-convention meetings to review logistics and client expectations.
• Meet with clients before departure to confirm services delivered and identify opportunities for future business.
• Adhere to departmental policies, health, safety, and security standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
