Job summary

Hermès Madison Flagship Boutique in New York seeks a Cashier to provide clerical support and flawless front-of-house service in a fast-paced luxury environment. You will accurately record transactions, process payments (cash, card), handle returns and exchanges, and prepare daily cashier reports while upholding Hermès standards.

This role requires strong communication, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work with the sales team to ensure an exceptional client journey.

Qualifications

• 1 year retail experience preferred in luxury.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of operating cash register or POS terminal.
• Good numerical sense, detail-oriented, high integrity in payment handling.
• Cash handling experience strongly preferred.
• Customer service oriented.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Detail oriented.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office.
• Ability to handle difficult situations with grace and composure.
• Ability to lift between 0-25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Accurately record point of sale transactions at the register.
• Provide high levels of service per Hermès standards.
• Support the Sales Team with cashier service as needed.
• Process payments (cash, credit card, other forms) accurately.
• Handle returns, exchanges, refunds and tax refunds per policies.
• Reconcile daily transactions and maintain cash flow.
• Input transaction and client information into the system.
• Assist in preparing daily cashier reports.
• Answer phones promptly with courteous service.
• Support store operations and ad hoc duties.
