Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, Alabama is seeking a senior engineer to design the helium subsystem for the Transfer Stage Vehicle under the Gas & Thrusters team. You will size components, select materials, and analyze pressure, vibration, and thermal integrity to ensure safe human spaceflight.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, 5+ years with Creo CAD, and 2+ years in aerospace fluid or mechanical systems, with GD&T and P&ID experience. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred).
• 2+ years of proven experience in the design of aerospace fluid or mechanical systems.
• Knowledge and experience with gas systems.
• Proficiency in crafting engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience performing flow and pressure calculations as well as structural and thermal analysis of fluid systems.

Responsibilities

• Fluids sub-assembly design and development, CAD modeling in Creo or similar.
• Analyze components for fluid, thermal, and structural performance.
• Generate P&IDs using AutoCAD and define component specifications.
• Develop interfaces between fluid systems and other vehicle subsystems.
• Conduct trade studies and analyze test data.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams for procurement and fabrication.
